|
Summary of Position: The Information Technology Group is seeking a top level technical expert in one or more highly specialized areas of applications systems analysis and programming.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Under general direction: Has good understanding of the business or function for which application is designed. Responsible for directing and monitoring the work of team members. Maybe responsible for project completion and user satisfaction. Top level technical expert in one or more highly specialized areas of applications systems analysis and programming Acts independently under general direction: Formulates and defines system scope and objectives. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. Has full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming. Responsible for multiple phases of a project. Instructing, directing, and checking the work of other applications systems analysis and programming personnel. May have quality assurance review responsibilities. Performs the analysis of current computer system capabilities. Consults with user departments to determine computer needs; researches available hardware and software options, and recommends existing software options, hardware changes, or in-house system development. Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs. Creates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications. Analyzes code to find causes of errors and revises programs. Consults with client to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs. Installs and tests programs at client site. Writes and maintains documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections. Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about programs.
Required Qualifications: Qualified candidates will have a Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university and over seven years experience in computer programming positions of increasing complexity, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
