POSITION TITLE: Development Coordinator Job Requisition Number 100954
CLOSING DATE: November 5, 2009
POSITION TYPE: Career Service, Full-time DEPARTMENT: Division of Institutional Advancement
PAY: $30,836 Annually.

DESCRIPTION: Works together with the Development Team in the planning and implementation of the Foundation's annual events. Responsible for all aspects of the Foundation?s internal and external print and web communications. Stewards donors through ongoing recognition of personal and professional acknowledgements. This position is one of two database managers of the Foundation with ongoing training for enhancing the reporting and management of current and future donors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Coordinates the planning and implementation of the Foundation's annual events including, but not limited to the: annual Recognition Dinner, Networking & News Breakfasts and prospective donor events. Assists in the planning and implementation of the Dream Gala and Dream Cup Golf Tournament.
2. Manages the Foundation's internal and external communications through the development of all print materials as well as maintaining the Foundation's website for content and design.
3. Stewards Foundation donors and friends through birthday mailings and other personal and professional acknowledgements.
4. Examines, uses, tracks and updates prospects and donors in the Foundation's database, providing useful prospect and donor research. Maintains responsibility for updating donor database with information on all Foundation donors and contacts.
5. Maintains and creates reports in Raiser's Edge database for all fundraising activities, including Faculty & Staff Giving Campaign, special events, and other Foundation fundraising priorities.
6. Serves as backup for entering contributions into Raiser's Edge database and preparing corresponding Thank You letters.
7. Assists in identifying potential donors for College scholarships, projects, and programs and for endowment or capital fundraising.
8. Performs related works and other duties as assigned.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: (TRAVEL, WORK HOURS, WORKING CONDITIONS, ETC.) 1. Flexible hours and days. 2. Appointments and events will require time off campus.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
2. Experience in donor relations, including cultivation events, communication, and relationship building.
3. Experience in database management. Prefer Raiser?s Edge experience.
4. Experience in prospect research.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS: 1. Ability to work in a professional and independent manner.
2. High level of creative ability and willingness to work in a team environment.
3. Ability to communicate effectively and to work well with diverse groups, including faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members.
