WESTIN IMAGINE JOB DESCRIPTION: NIGHT AUDIT
Rising above the Orlando Orange County Convention Center, The Westin Imagine Orlando will be the area’s newest Florida art-deco style hotel. Located within the heart of Orlando’s Convention Corridor, the hotel will feature 315 guest rooms, including one and two bedroom suites. With over 7,100 square feet of state-of the-art conference and meeting space facilities, meetings will be unrivaled. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Guest registration and room assignments, accommodating special requests whenever possible. • Possess a thorough knowledge of hotel, rates, packages and discounts - how to handle them and how they relate to other departments. • Possess a thorough knowledge of resort credit and check cashing policies and procedures and adhere to them. • Develop a proficient knowledge of computer system. • Develop a proficient knowledge of unit locations, types, outlets, hours of operation and staff. • Notify housekeeping of late check-outs, early departures, special requests, and early check-ins. • Develop a working knowledge of the reservations department; accept same day and future reservations when necessary. • Know cancellation procedure, as well as guest check-out and special handling procedures. • Inspect all areas of the department and handle any problem that may arise in areas when department managers are not present. • Check with all departments at the beginning of shift and immediately call the PBX operator, giving his/her beeper/cell phone number, informing the operator that he is now on duty. • Review staffing levels of operating departments. When necessary, take appropriate actions to supplement or release, contacting department manager or director when needed. • Handle any emergency that may develop on the property and inform proper authorities and/or personnel. • Keep close contact with security and request reports on their observations as well as conditions on the Resort. • Strive to be an energy conservation manager, looking for areas of abuse (meeting rooms, etc.) • Front Desk Staff will speak to the Resort Night Manager when calling in sick, when the department head is not present and he/she will determine whether or not the department lead needs to be called. • Assist front desk with relocating guest on overbooked nights and accommodating special requests. • Handling guest problems/incidents unable to be resolved by front desk agents. • Confers and cooperates with other department heads to ensure coordination of activities. • Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services. • Greets guests • Patrols public rooms, investigates disturbances, and warns troublemakers.
Education and/or Experience • This position requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). • This position requires at least one year of previous guest service related experience.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of JDE, HOST, Galaxy Database software; outlook Internet software; excel Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid driver’s license required with at least three (3) years driving experience and must meet company’s driving requirements.
Other Skills and Abilities
Must be able to speak and understand fluent English. Must be guest service oriented. Demonstrate ability to handle any problem situation, guest complaint and emergency as it arises.
Other Qualifications
• One year of supervisory experience required; two years of hospitality industry experience preferred. • Must be able to work weekends, and holidays.
