Description

The Patient Care Technician provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. Required Certification includes Basic Life Support from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network. Required Certification/Licensure includes State of Florida CNA, Paramedic, or Emergency Medical Technician, or a current LPN or RN Nursing student with successful completion of Nursing Fundamentals; in addition to equivalent education required for the certification. Required: BayCare Patient Care Technician Course or successful completion of Nursing Fundamentals (Registered or Licensed Practical), or 1 year of clinical experience in an acute care or skilled nursing facility. * If no experience/training in sterile technique; insertion and removal of urinary catheters, and IV reseal removal ? a BayCare PCT Course and accompanying competencies must be completed within 90 days of hire.
