Description

We are currently looking for Medical Assistants for our Physician Practices in the following areas:

• Central Tampa - Near St. Joseph's Hospital on MLK
• North Tampa / Lutz / Carrollwood
• Westchase
• Lakeland
• Lithia
• Riverview
• Full time Float positions covering locations throughout the Tampa area

The Medical Assistant assists physicians with patient examination; procedures and treatment. Responsible for patient histories; routine lab procedures and preparation of specimens for transport to the lab. Follows up on test orders and reports results to the physician and patient; provides and maintains patient education materials; maintains medical equipment; inventories clinical and drug supplies. May obtain clinical; financial and demographic information. Create and maintain patient charts. File charts and reports. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Certification: CMA, CCMA, RMA through AMT, NCMA, or NRCMA within 90 days of employment.

Education: High school graduate or equivalent from a regionally or nationally accredited institution. Technical Diploma in Medical Assisting preferred.

Experience: 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant preferred, but will consider certified new MA graduates.

Specific Skills: Customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently, ability to work with a team, critical thinking skills, organizational skills, clerical skills, computer skills appropriate for the position, medical terminology use and understanding, time management skills, Clinical skills to include injections, EKG, phlebotomy and vitals. Use of medical diagnostic equipment. Familiarity with basic lab terminology and medication protocols.
