Description

The Regulatory Compliance Coordinator understands and helps facilitate regulatory compliance relative to Joint Commission accreditation and certifications for the Hospital System Division. Assists the Regulatory System Manager to facilitate compliance of all regulatory standards set forth by Joint Commission and CMS or other accreditation agencies. The Regulatory Compliance Coordinator will assist departmental leadership teams at each region ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies. Assures that facility administration and managers are knowledgeable about current standards,
accreditation interpretations and best practices for meeting the standards. Coordinates Joint Commission Tracers and Readiness Rounds and conducts audits and inspections to assess readiness. Participates in new team member training and annual Team Member Essentials pertaining to regulatory requirements. Promotes and educates staff to improve readiness and compliance. Supports BayCare initiatives for regulatory standardization. Takes action to ensure that our hospitals are in a state of continuous survey readiness. Coordinates survey activities including escorts surveyors, coordinates responses and assures that action plans are completed during surveys. As directed, assists with other assigned quality activities. Collaborates with Quality and Safety Managers to make improvements and resolve issues that prevent continued readiness. Acts as liaison for the facility with regulating agencies, through communications with surveyors, consultants and provides regulatory support. Assists hospital Quality & Safety Managers when responding to inquiries and surveys on behalf of their Hospital. Performs other tasks to promote quality and compliance under the direction of the Regulatory Compliance Systems Manager. Serves as the expert in the use of regulatory software. Ensures that the East and West Region maintain a highly reliable level of performance in accreditation and regulatory standards. Licensure or Certification in a related Clinical Specialty with a Bachelor's degree is acceptable in lieu of RN License.
