Course Director, Applied Human-Computer Interaction

This opening is for general consideration for Faculty positions within the Full Sail University Education Department. Course Directors ensure excellence in teaching skills and classroom content, manage instructors and lab personnel to deliver the same excellence in the labs, ensure personal service to students, maintain continuing education as defined in the faculty development plan and design and/or maintain curriculum to ensure industry standards are being met. Applied Human-Computer Interaction The Applied Human-Computer Interaction course explores human-computer interaction (HCI) from an interdisciplinary perspective, utilizing concepts from computer science, design, and psychology. Topics covered will include input/output devices, mobile device constraints, universal design, interaction styles, cognitive load, and information processing. Students will discover emergent technologies in HCI research, learn how to conduct HCI research and analyze human-computer informatics, and be able to apply derived recommendations to software development through appropriate user-interface design. By the end of the course, students will learn how to build accessible and efficient interfaces through the application of HCI principles Education/Training The ideal candidate must have a minimum of four years related and verifiable experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development or similar degree. Candidates applying will be reviewed for various open teaching positions. Depending on the course level, requirements will be varied based on our Accrediting Commission (ACCSC).   Skills Needed This candidate must possess a broad base of knowledge of human-computer interaction (HCI) and its history. The candidates should be familiar with such topics as  input/output devices, mobile device constraints, universal design, interaction styles, cognitive load, and information processing. All faculty positions require excellent oral and written communication skills, passion to encourage learning, being a self-motivated team member, and the ability to help develop curriculum. Teaching positions will require campus and online teaching.
