Course Director, Media Law and Telecommunications Policies

Winter Park, Florida

This opening is for general consideration for Faculty positions within the Full Sail University Education Department. Course Directors ensure excellence in teaching skills and classroom content, manage instructors and lab personnel to deliver the same excellence in the labs, ensure personal service to students, maintain continuing education as defined in the faculty development plan and design and/or maintain curriculum to ensure industry standards are being met. Media Law and Telecommunications Policies
The Media Law and Telecommunications Policies Course explores legal topics that communication professionals need to understand in order to do their job effectively. Students will learn how to evaluate slander, libel, and defamation issues. Copyright, trademark, and privacy laws will be addressed, including the “fair use” doctrine that may allow the use of excerpt materials on and off the Internet under certain circumstances. First Amendment issues will also be covered, including the government regulation of advertising and speech in the media.

Education/Training
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of four years related and verifiable experience, and a Bachelor’s degree in media law, media ethics, telecommunications, or media network management. Candidates applying will be reviewed for various open teaching positions. Depending on the course level, requirements will be varied based on our Accrediting Commission (ACCSC).

Skills Needed
The idea candidate has experience with media law, telecommunications, telecommunication policy management, media copyright management, and creative commons. All faculty positions require excellent oral and written communication skills, passion to encourage learning, being a self-motivated team member, and the ability to help develop curriculum. Teaching positions will require campus and online teaching.
