JOB SUMMARY:
Identifies pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric individuals requiring nutrition intervention through computerized screening and consults.
Calculates calorie, protein and nutrient requirements based on age specific protocols and medical diagnosis.
Develops and implements patient care plans with appropriate goals.
Able to work and communicate well with others.
Assess and provide patient/family nutrition education to improve patient outcomes.
Serves as a nutrition consultant to physicians, the hospital and the community.
Participate in establishing clinical department’s procedures, and manuals to meet JCAH requirements.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Formal Education: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in Dietetics or
Food and Nutrition or other American Dietetic Association approved degree.
Related American Dietetic Association internship or other hospital supervised experience
Experience:
Certificates and Registered with the American Dietetic Association
Licenses: Professionally licensed in the state of Florida
Other Skills Knowledge of computers and computer charting
and Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively with other members of the health care team.
Knowledge of effective teaching techniques
