Course Director, Web Standards Project

Course Directors ensure excellence in teaching skills and classroom content, manage instructors and lab personnel to deliver the same excellence in the labs, ensure personal service to students, maintain continuing education as defined in the faculty development plan and design and/or maintain curriculum to ensure industry standards are being met.

Web Standards Project

The Web Standards Project Course examines the process of creating web applications that serve both Form and Function; meanwhile respecting Internationally established Web Standards and production methodologies. Students will build upon concepts introduced in the Web Design Fundamentals, and Designing for Web Standards courses related to the production process and standards-based web deployment. Students learn how to utilize Web Standards-based design, including CSS, CSS FRAMEWORKS, CSS COMPILERS, HTML, SVG optimization and JavaScript libraries/plug-in. The creative process of this course combines a professional web development workflow model to create an efficient and effective web project. This course explores developing a Web Standards-based application while following proven production process techniques such as Agile and Waterfall to ensure successful delivery.
 

Education/Training

The ideal candidate must have a minimum of four years related and verifiable experience and a bachelor’s degree related to the Web Standards Project course description above. A related graduate degree (or an unrelated graduate degree and 18 related graduate level credit hours) is preferred.  Requirements will be based on our Accrediting Commission (ACCSC).

Advanced CSS Editing

CSS Frameworks and Compilers

XHTML, XML and HTML5

JavaScript

Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall Production Techniques.

Scope Managing and Production Deliverables.

Information Architecture and Usability.

Version Control (Git, SVN, etc).

Adobe Suite, particularly: InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator

All faculty positions require excellent oral and written communication skills, passion to encourage learning, being a self-motivated team member, and the ability to help develop curriculum.
