Software Product Manager

Winter Park, Florida

The Software Product Manager is a leadership position within the Full Sail IMT FSO product team. This is a senior position that represents the capabilities of Full Sail IMT. They work with Full Sail and/or external customers to analyze business requirements to ensure IMT teams create products that meet those needs.

 

Essential job functions

  • Assigned ownership of specific products from IMT's portfolio of products use for online learning; responsible for the subsequent user experience of internal and external customers.
  • Responsible for managing the strategy and lifecycle for their assigned products.
  • Works closely with Education, Development, Support and Customer Service leadership to develop specifications and training for products that meet the needs of their users.
  • Invests time to understand the way users engage with the products. They are responsible for building strong user relationships. The Product Manager interfaces with their users to gather and analyze business requirements.
  • As necessary, organizes Product User Groups and Product Focus Groups to receive input on their products' functions and determine impact on the development implementation schedule.
  • Develops communication and education plans to help users understand the full functionality of each product.
  • Manages the Roadmap for each product and helps IMT with prioritization and sequencing of work required to implement feature enhancements.
  • Identifies IMT and user implementation risks and constraints associated with the development and implementation of the Product.
  • Responsible for product manuals and corresponding updates
  • Responsible for enhancement and bug tracking from users and the product community (gathering, prioritizing and voting).

 

Requirements: 

  • 5 or more years experience in Product/Project Management and user relations
  • Basic knowledge of planning for consistent standards and processes
  • Basic budget and planning skills
  • Basic knowledge of Product Development and Project Management methodologies
  • Basic knowledge of communications planning
  • Basic resource management and development skills
  • Desire to learn and help others
  • Executive communication, presentation and organizational skills (project planning)
  • Methodical, consistent and patient approach to problem solving

 

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA preferred 
  • Advanced understanding of interactive product design and methodologies
  • Advanced knowledge of web usability principles
  • Basic understanding of cloud application design

 

Skills Needed:

  • Ability to foster an environment of creativity and collaboration
  • Active participation in waterfall and agile development processes
  • Ability to help prioritize and juggle many small, large, and important projects
  • Perform strategic planning, coordinating product roadmap, and constant communication with development.
  • Microsoft applications, project management software, time management, presentation software including Keynote, PowerPoint, Screenflow, Adobe Acrobat, Madcap Flare, Atlassian Jira and Confluence products.
