Position Purpose Prepare shipments for pick up and receive packages to be dispersed daily. Sales and customer service of forklift parts via face to face and over the phone

Job Description

This information indicates the general nature and level of work performed by associates in this role. Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

-  Answer incoming parts calls and process orders.

-  Process parts orders for road and shop mechanics.

-  Assist walk-in customers.

-  Receive all incoming shipments and distribute paperwork.
-  Prepare and ship all outgoing shipments and maintain records.

-  Unpack and distribute mail, parts, and packages from branches.

-  Run tracers on overdue shipments and claims for damaged product.

-  Post incoming packing slips from venders for daily orders, generate sales slips for customer orders and work orders, and post freight.

-  Post incoming packing slips for all stock orders.

-  Put away all stock orders.

-  Pull replenishment stock for service vans.

-  Press tires.

-  Maintain warehouse cleanliness and appearance.

-  Order and maintain a sufficient supply of shipping supplies.

-  Misc. duties as required.

-  Assist back counter when time permits, using the time as a form of training.


Nature and Scope

Position reports to the branch parts manager with accountability to the branch manager and/or general parts manager.

Environmental Job Requirements

Working environment consists of working at a desk setting using a computer. Occasional walking in the shop area and other areas of the facility are necessary. These areas involve walking on a concrete floor which may have temporary cracks appearing in the floor, causing an uneven walking surface. Comfortable shoes should be worn depending on the work environment. The painting and shop areas can be dusty, noisy, and drafty depending on weather conditions, as these areas are well ventilated and open to outside air. Work near moving mechanical parts 10%; Fumes or airborne particles 30%; Toxic or caustic chemicals 10%


Physical Job Requirements

Majority of this position requires sitting at a desk utilizing a computer and monitor frequently - 40%. Visual fatigue may happen with extended periods of computer use. Walking up and down stairs, on carpet, tile, and concrete areas is necessary in this position - 40%. There is minimal outside exposure in this position, however depending on employee needs, it may be necessary for this position to find an employee at times in the plant to answer a question - 10%. Of an 8 hour work day typically you would spend time doing the following: Standing 5%, Walking 5%, Sitting 80%, Use of hands 100%, Reach with hands and arms 5%, Climb 0%, Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 1%, Hear or talk 100%. In this position moderate noise is expected examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic. Distance/Near clear vision is critical. Lifting up to 10 lbs.

Qualifications

Prefer 1-2 years in shipping/receiving; Proficiency with MS Office Professional including Word, Excel, Outlook; Windows XP knowledge; Able to type 25+ wpm; Demonstrate above average time management, organizational, creativity, and cooperation skills; Customer service and telephone etiquette; Ability to multi-task and manage multiple assignments and tasks and set priorities as well as adapt to changing conditions and work assignments; Bilingual only preferred; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions one-on-one and in small groups with customers, managers, and other employees; Ability to critically think and problem solves in situations.


Education High school diploma or GED; equivalent 12 months related work experience; and/or combination of education and work experience.
