Associate Course Director, Psychology of Play

Winter Park, Florida

This opening is for general consideration for Faculty positions within the Full Sail University Education Department. Associate Course Directors ensure excellence in teaching skills and classroom content, support Course Director’s curriculum vision and direction, and assist with lecture and administrative responsibilities as assigned. They ensure personal service to students and maintain continuing education as defined in the faculty development plan. Psychology of Play
In the Psychology of Play course, students explore how the field of psychology values the concept of play as a mechanism that allows a person to apply game strategies to accomplish life goals. Students will be introduced to how the action of play shapes the brain, develops critical-thinking skills, and strengthens the ability to collaborate with others in social and professional settings. By exploring the key works of historical and current researchers and theorists, students will learn about the value of play and how to apply techniques of play in developing cognitive strategies to complete creative, professional, and social tasks. Students will utilize a psychological perspective of play to examine how this relates to their life, their education, and their chosen creative field.
 

Education/Training

The ideal candidate must have a Master’s degree in in psychology or a closely related field. Candidates applying will be reviewed for various open teaching positions. Depending on the course level, requirements will be varied based on our Accrediting Commission (ACCSC).

Skills Needed
All faculty positions require excellent oral and written communication skills, passion to encourage learning, self-motivated team member, ability to help develop curriculum, and the ability to help develop lab curriculum. Teaching positions will require campus and online teaching.
