CLASSIFICATION: Assistant Supervisor, Parking Operations
HOURS: Rotating 40-hour shifts between 7:00 AM and 3:30 AM, 7 days per week
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Two year degree from an accredited college preferred or a strong leadership background with five or more years of private sector or governmental experience. A combination of experience, education, and/or certifications equivalent to may be considered in lieu of the five year requirement. Must possess a valid FL Driver License with CDL or ‘E’ endorsement and maintain insurability under the District’s commercial vehicle coverage and be MOT certified within 90 days of employment. Other certificates, licenses, and/or registrations may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will assist the Parking Operation Deputy Manager with the overall department’s operational performance, which includes and are not limited to the following areas: Horticulture, Facilities Maintenance, Janitorial Services of the Parking Structures and Pedestrian Bridges. This position will have direct responsibility for the Parking Structure operation and will assume full responsibility when the Deputy Manager of the Parking Structure is not available. Candidate must have clear, accurate, and attentive verbal and written communication skills. Supervisory responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Supervise contracted employees in the parking structure in accordance with the District’s policies and applicable laws. Assist Deputy Manager with interviewing, coaching, training, planning, assigning & directing work, performance appraisal, discipline, addressing complaints, solving problems. Ensure all elevators and escalators, lights, HVAC systems, EMS, Smart Park, plumbing, janitorial, horticulture, and overall integrity of the parking structure are in good standing and are operating properly. This position will also interface with WDW and OC Sheriff’s Office personnel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; crawl or balance; and talk or hear. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required are close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
