The Florida Literacy Coalition seeks an individual to manage and support the Florida Health Literacy Initiative and Florida Financial Literacy Initiative grants programs and related projects.
Duties include:
- Manage health literacy and financial literacy mini-grants programs.
- Coordinate the grant application, review and distribution process.
- Implement grant reporting and reapplication procedures.
- Collect and synthesize data reported on the grants, including pre and post health and financial literacy assessments. Draft related foundation grant reports.
- Organize periodic meetings/conference calls among FLC and grant recipients.
- Identify and help facilitate opportunities for grantees to collaborate with potential partners.
- Conduct project site visits as time and resources permit.
- Serve as lead organizer of one day Florida Health Literacy Summit.
- Coordinate the development of supplemental materials, such as health literacy lesson plans, activities and supplements to “Staying Healthy” curriculum.
- Coordinate and offer health literacy and financial literacy workshops and professional development opportunities, including those offered at the Florida Literacy Conference.
- Work with Referral Specialist to coordinate the distribution of “Staying Healthy” materials.
- Manage content on the health literacy section of FLC’s website.
- Contribute articles to state newsletter.
- Serve as a resource and work with Executive Director to identify potential partners, funders and opportunities to inform and educate people about health literacy and financial literacy.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualified candidates should have good organizational, administrative and communications skills. Experience in grants management, health care and/or health education preferred.
Grant funded position. Open until filled. Some travel required.
28 hrs per week. Flexible hours. Pay range: $15.00 - $16.50 hr
