Contract Specialist

CGI Federal, a wholly owned subsidiary of CGI, has an opening for a Contract Specialist in its Tampa office. This role supports a multi-year business process services contract CGI Federal has with a local housing authority that is aligned with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Accordingly, the Contract Specialist is responsible for managing a portfolio of assisted housing contracts to ensure the accurate and timely completion of all required tasks, which includes the following: perform detailed reconciliation of payments to property owners; assist in the submitting of budgets, requisitions and revisions; renew expired contracts; maintain positive relations with owners, residents and their representatives, neighborhood groups and local governments; perform rent adjustments including budget analysis; monitor physical inspection results in collaboration with local contract specialists; maintain customer files and records retention in accordance with policy. The work requires the ability to meet deadlines consistently and accurately.

To qualify for this position, applicants must have knowledge of HUD rules and regulations governing the HUD Section 8 project-based housing program or the ability to learn this information through the training program provided.

In addition, applicants must be proficient in the use of MS Office, particularly Excel, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as a solid understanding of general accounting principles. An undergraduate degree in business administration or related field is required.
