Shelter Assistant

Great entry level job to the right individual.

Harbor House is seeking 2 qualified individuals willing to roll up their sleeves and help keep the shelter, Paws for Peace kennel, Donation Center and office spaces clean. In addition, this position is responsible for interfacing with our donors dropping off in-kind donations and maintains inventory system. One day you may be working with animals in the kennel and the next deep cleaning in the kitchens.  Ensures residential and office spaces are stocked with necessary supplies.

Education & Training:  A minimum of a high school diploma/GED and 1 year of commercial cleaning experience is required. Previous warehouse, logistics, stock, receiving, inventory experience is strongly preferred.

Other Job Requirements: The ideal candidate will have intermediate computer skills and strong organization skills. Ability to detail clean. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, and is required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 65 pounds. May have contact with animals in the kennel-so the ideal candidate will be comfortable working with and around animals. Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours).  Must possess a good driving record, pass a pre-employment drug and background screen and attend a 3 day training to become CORE certified.
