Basic Job Concept:
This position is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all warehouse equipment, chargers, batteries, pallet jacks, fork lifts, scissor lift and general building upkeep. Your primary role is to perform preventative maintenance work on all power equipment and to perform repairs on such equipment as needed. This job requires a person who is self-motivated, can work independently and understands the urgency in keeping all equipment operational.
Overtime hours, working weekends and holidays, and starting at various early morning start times are required in order to successfully meet the needs of the business. The position requires someone who can be flexible with their work schedule. The standard schedule is Monday – Friday 6:00 a.m. till finished. (Weekends, after hours and holidays are only required when needed).

Key Relationships:
This position reports directly to the Operations Manager. The Operations Manager will also provide work direction, and training.

Educational Requirements:
- Prefer 2 or more years of completed college or technical school education relating to facility maintenance field.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 1 year experience in the warehouse, hotel, or factory maintenance field.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Performing preventative maintenance on all power equipment to ensure it’s in safe operational condition.
- Perform repairs to power equipment in a timely fashion to ensure all equipment is readily available for operator use so as to not hinder order selector production.
- Accurately and thoroughly document work orders for completed work.
- Communicate and or fill out requisitions for parts and supplies
- Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times
- Abide by all safety protocols while performing work on equipment to ensure the safety of yourself and to future operators of the equipment.
- Perform repairs on rolling stock, building, building equipment, and racking.
- Installing fixtures
- Replacing light bulbs
- Light, to medium duty, painting and drywall repair.
- Repair, and maintain irrigation system, and controls.
- Replace broken spray heads.
- Replace, or extend underground supply lines.
- Excavate using shovels.
- Electrical troubleshooting.
- Extended work in coolers with temperatures ranging: 45 down to 33 degrees.
- Minor grounds keeping and parking lot maintenance.
- Perform Maintenance Shop housekeeping, and organization on a daily and weekly basis.
- Maintain a safe facility for all personnel.
- Professional communication across all levels of personnel from employee to executive level.
- Work to the direction of Supervisor.
- All tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager or other members of management.
- Maintenance technicians will be expected to respond to after hours calls when needed.
Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.
- Willingness to assist other employees or mechanics when requested, and a willingness to learn new skills, and continuing education.
- Must be comfortable troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and equipment problems.
- Ability to read, and follow manufacturer equipment manuals, and electrical schematics.
- Ability to identify problems or potential problems and take initiative to correct them.
- Must possess written, and verbal communication skills. Must be detail oriented.
- Ability to complete daily written maintenance reports.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds unassisted.
- Able to ascend heights by ladder, or scissor lift. Able to work confidently in overhead position.
- Must own a basic hand tool set, and be willing to acquire tools as needed.
- Stick, and MIG welding skills, will be considered a plus. EPA Certification in refrigeration and A/C will be considered a plus.

- Must have the ability to talk and hear; must be able to hear warning horns on moving machinery and equipment.

- Must exhibit a high level of endurance, energy, and strength to successfully perform position.
- Must be able to work extended hours beyond 8 hours per day when needed.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, an associate regularly works near moving mechanical apparatus and is regularly exposed to vibration and moderate to high noise levels. The work environment includes congested and high traffic areas, slippery floors, working alongside forklifts, single pallet jacks, electric walk behind jacks and hand carts. Walking and working is done on concrete flooring. Some duties are performed in the warehouse and will require work to be done in varying climates. Temperatures range from zero in the coolers to 95 degrees Fahrenheit or above outdoors. The shift end-time fluctuates with the employer’s daily needs. The associate occasionally works in high and precarious places.
