Position Description:


Skilled in ArcGIS Server administration and managing Windows 2008 servers’ environment including, but not limited to, installation, administration, technical support, application development and database development for a multi-disciplined and multi-network environment. Ability to use technical problem solving techniques to address a variety of hardware and software malfunctions. Ability to understand particular business functional area/areas and the appropriate GIS applications. Skills in managing time and multiple tasks
The successful candidate will work with a high-performing team conducting day-to-day geospatial and non-spatial data management activities (receiving, delivery, quality assurance, metadata, acceptance, indexing, web services) necessary to support the implementation of data repositories related to transportation planning, design and production environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that GIS data and products are operational, accurate, available, usable, shareable, integrated, and interpreted for use by end-users.

Duties and Responsibilities:
This position supports the Geographic Information System (GIS) initiative through development maintenance, and integration of software, hardware, and related data systems. This position has responsibilities to coordinate regularly with geographically disperse staffs that are involved in GIS activities including the IT professional and GIS end users. This position is intended to support a diverse range of technical needs of clients, develop and implement independent GIS applications consistent with client’s Enterprise GIS framework. This position shall actively participate in assigned teams.


Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate must be able to perform tasks quickly with minimal supervision, to meet schedules and timeframes. The following demonstrated skills and experience are required:
·    Technical certification for Enterprise Geodatabase Management at the Associate level (minimum) (http://training.esri.com/certification) or equivalent experience.
·    Professional knowledge of concepts and principles of geospatial data management.
·    Knowledge of geography, digital cartography, physical science and/or biology in order to successfully integrate geospatial technologies to accomplish landscape goals.
·    Knowledge of Agile Development methodology.
·    Working competence in geospatial technologies to foster greater communication, implement standard operation procedures, and increase efficiency.
·    Ability to work within a team of diverse physical, biological, ecological, technical, and environmental science personnel from both the agency and external partners.
·    Ability to orally communicate technical information effectively to natural resource lay persons, geospatial colleagues, and interested individuals.
·    Working knowledge and experience with ESRI suite of GIS software at version level 10.2.x including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE.
·    Experience with organizing and providing information on the Internet and Intranet, including the ability to create and manage map services at the version level 10.2.x for ArcGIS data sets and register them with Portal for ArcGIS or ArcGIS      On-Line.
·    Python-language-based scripting skills are highly desirable.
·    Working knowledge of Microsoft Sharepoint 2010.
