Meter Technician/Customer Service Representative

The City of Longwood is seeking a Meter Technician/Customer Service Representative to provide admin & field work for the Utility Billing Dept.  Under general supervision, records, reports, & gathers water meter usage using a hand-held meter reading device; interacts with customers & addresses questions & resolves complaints; reports abnormal or suspicious meter conditions or usage patterns; provides assistance in maintaining a variety of financial transactions & records; including compiling information & preparing reports &/or summaries. Checks & verifies data for completeness & accuracy.  Typically uses computerized data management & analysis systems. 

Starting pay is $12.34/hour, or commensurate with experience w/in pay band.  Qualifications include: Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.  High School Diploma or GED Must have or be able to complete ICS 100 & 700 courses within six months of hire.  Minimum of one (1) year of customer service & one (1) year of meter reading experience. Any equivalent combination of education & experience may qualify. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
