Description:

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for helping the Director of Learning and Development with tasks and projects that relate to training of the Company’s internal associates and external customers.Tasks and assignments include, but are not limited to, leading onboarding trainings, webinars, vendor events, certification programs, eLearning, online libraries, and training videos.This position involves working directly with the Director of Learning and Development, as well as communicating with the Company’s internal and external customers via in-person, telephone, and other electronic means.

Job Duties:

  • Assist and support the Director of Learning and Development as outlined above
  • Provide onboarding training and support of new and existing retailer accounts; includes in-person, webinars, and eLearning
  • Manage and track trainee progress through specified curriculum from beginning to end
  • Complete pre-training assessments and post-training feedback to determine Return-on-Investment (ROI) and overall effectiveness of initiatives
  • Clerical and administrative duties related to training, employee and business development, etc.
  • Prepare instructional materials for training events
  • Schedule training events, including coordination between DOW and vendors
  • Help manage training materials in the Microsoft SharePoint areas (e.g., LINX and Retailer Portal) and keep them up-to-date or otherwise relevant
  • Any and all other duties, as assigned by Director of Learning and Development

Required Qualifications:

  • Commitment to training excellence and high-quality output
  • Self-motivated person with a sincere desire to meet the needs of our internal and external customers
  • 2+ years of experience in the training field
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Remarkable organizational, time, and project management skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Computer literate with a base knowledge to include Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4-year college degree
  • Able to speak, read, and write in Spanish
  • Public speaking and presenting experience
  • Microsoft SharePoint experience a plus
  • Experience using eLearning authoring programs such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate, and/or Lectora; as well as other audio/video equipment, computer editing software for video production

Working Conditions:

  • Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
  • Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis
  • Able to perform general office administrative activities: copying, filing, delivering and using the telephone, etc.
  • Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds
  • Travel required up to 35-50% of the time; may fluctuate as business needs demand
