ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a current and thorough knowledge of the products and services provided by the Credit Union and how EFT systems interface with and support those products and services.
Maintains a thorough knowledge of all EFT policies and procedures, protocols, authorizations,
interfaces with external EFT systems, as well as emerging EFT technology and applications
Resolves member inquiries, concerns and problems related to electronic fund transfers.
Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all electronic fund transfers including:
ATM/Debit Card, ACH, Share Draft, Shared Branching and Wire Transfers.
Serves as a wire transfer operator.
Reconciles and monitors activity in general ledger accounts. Researches and resolves outstanding
items in a timely manner
Balances credit card settlements and posts to general ledger accounts.
Performs other duties as required and/or directed
Responsible for mastering the processing functions and operational activities of the EFS support areas:
Share Draft – Analyzes daily share draft transmission and repost to determine
necessary action for exceptions. Processes daily returns within time constraints.
Prepares share draft stop payments, photocopy requests and check orders while
maintaining related records and documentation. Processes returned items (deposited
checks returned) daily. Monitors overdrawn accounts, excessive overdraft conditions
and takes appropriate action.
ATM/Debit Card/Shared Branching – Preparation of daily summary for ATM,
Debit Card and Shared Branching transactions and input into the general ledger daily.
Verify ATM cash and check deposits receipts balanced between processor, ATM
balancing sheet, and general ledger. Balance ATM change funds daily with general
ledger and ATM receipts. Submit adjustments or correct member’s accounts within
48 hours of error.
ACH- Retrieves/processes ACH files of member pay to be deposited into credit union
Accounts; verifies control totals and inputs into credit union computer for processing,
and verifies the accuracy of the computer generated files vs. settlement control
figures. Corresponds with agencies to obtain or change direct deposit information and
resolve reporting and procedural difficulties. Processes daily ACH returns within time
constraints via PC. Prepares ACH stop payments and research requests while
maintaining related records and documentation. Assist with Annual ACH audit.
Updates education and information on ACH rules and regulations
Receptive to periodic job rotation in EFS to enhance personal growth and create departmental depth.
Provide efficient service to the internal customer in order to maintain quality member service. Is courteous
and attentive in determining needs and solving problems to the member-owners. Must possess strong
technical skills and the initiative/ability to grow with the technological advances in the industry
COMPLEXITY OF WORK: Overall knowledge of EFS practices is a must. Must be efficient and organized. Must have knowledge of primary member database functions, as well as the functions and applications of third party software. Must be able to meet deadlines and work independently in a moderately stressful environment.
RELATIONSHIP OUTSIDE OF OFFICE/DEPARTMENT TEAM: EFS provides support to all areas of the
Credit Union. The EFS team is thoroughly cross-trained to answer any questions about the services of ATM,
ACH, Share drafts, Shared Branch, Incoming and Outgoing Wires. The EFS team assists front office with
ACH questions/tracers, Stop payments, ATM & Shared Branching adjustments & Credit Card payment
postings to general ledger.

Requires general knowledge of basic accounting and EFT network operations.
Computer proficiency is a must. 2-4 years of related experience needed; College education including
accounting electives preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Team member is responsible for adhering to the terms of the Bank Secrecy Act applicable to this position.
The team member is required to attend mandatory BSA training annually.

LANUGUAGE SKILLS:
• Ability to use passive vocabulary of 5 - 6,000 words; to read at a moderate rate; define unfamiliar

• Ability to communicate in complex sentences; using normal word order with present and past tense;
