Job Duties:
- Develop and execute strategies for enhancing revenue from corporations and corporate foundations for both short and long term success in line with budget and organization goals.
- Be creative in developing revenue opportunities that meet the mutual marketing goals of the corporate partner and OSC. For example, exhibit, event, community accessibility options, naming and/or corporate memberships.
- Ensure all corporate partners are being stewarded regularly throughout the year with the aim of building ongoing relationships that sustain the mission.
- Research corporate prospects and develop plan to engage targeted organizations for short and long term partnerships.
- Develop and maintain a portfolio of all sponsorship opportunities for potential partners.
- Serve as Development Lead for the following events including but not limited to Neanderthal Ball, Cosmic Golf, Science of Wine, Maker Faire.
- Insure appropriate and professional presentation materials and implementation of deliverables.
- Manage and grow volunteer committees (Community Council) in relation to aforementioned special events and advocacy in the community.
- Ensure appropriate follow-up with corporate clients for annual and capital campaigns.
- Participate in the launch and implementation of a successful comprehensive campaign for the long term growth of the Center.
- Develop and maintain prospect lists in donor database (Donor Perfect).
- Stay current on corporate activity in the community to assess viable opportunities for engagement.
- Work with internal OSC departments including Finance, Marketing, Visitor Experience, Education and others to ensure fulfillment of Development goals.
Education:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of five years of experience in corporate fundraising and/or business development.
- Work with engaging and growing volunteer committees. Three years of management experience, including budgeting and planning.
- Knowledge and involvement in the local community.
- Previous work experience in a non-profit organization or business development function a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills a must.
- Prior Event experience preferred Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
- Corporate experience a plus.
