National Airlines, based in Orlando, FL, operates passenger charter service as well as customized military and commercial air cargo carriage worldwide. National Airlines specializes in over-sized, time sensitive, and special handling requirements, utilizing757-200 and 747-400 aircraft to accomplish its missions.  

Essential Functions:

  • Recruit for all open positions at National Airlines, including by updating Job descriptions, assessing resumes, arranging interviews, preparing offer letters, completing applicant tracking logs.
  • Ensure compliance with Affirmative Action requirements by, among other things, engaging in outreach in the community to attract minorities, women, veterans, and individuals with disabilities, and maintain detailed records to record National’s efforts.
  • Ensure all laws, regulations and National’s policies and procedures relating to recruitment and hiring are strictly adhered to and that all records to prove our compliance are maintained in auditor-ready condition.
  • Onboard newly hired employees utilizing National’s program, and continually develop improvements to the program, gaining Legal and Executive support for proposed changes.
  • Maintain all personnel and recruiting files.
  • Work with National’s Payroll and Benefits Administrator in order to serve as her backup and to lend support if necessary.
  • Coordinate all activities relating to DOT/FAA drug and alcohol testing for employees in Safety-Sensitive positions.
  • Serve as National’s Designated Employer Representative in our Drug and Alcohol Abatement Program.
  • Conduct and document initial and recurrent training for employees and their supervisors about drug and alcohol use and about the relevant DOT/FAA regulations and National’s drug and alcohol program.
  • Work constantly to improve National’s drug and alcohol program to increase its effectiveness and compliance with all DOT and FAA regulations..
  • May perform other duties as required or directed.

  • Qualifications:
  • SPHR preferred
  • 5+ years in HR role that included recruiting,
  • Experience with Affirmative Action requirements for US government contractors, discrimination laws, Fair Credit Reporting Act requirements, I-9 requirements,
  • Experience administering a DOT/FAA drug and alcohol program preferred
  • College degree preferred

Mental Requirements:

  • Analytical skills and good judgment / decision making
  • Excellent written and verbal skills required

Computer Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Knowledge and experience with the internet including search agent applications

Physical Demands:

Extended periods at work station, using a keyboard, viewing a computer screen and communicating by telephone and in person. 

Work Environment:

Work environment is generally quiet, and in an office setting but it can be in much more challenging settings (see Physical Demands section above).
