Executive Director

The YMCA of Central Florida is seeking a dynamic cause driven leader to direct and oversee the day-to-day operations of our full service Osceola YMCA Family Center located near Kissimmee, FL, close to the Disney theme parks.  The facility has a budgeted trend growing to $1.5 million, employing 55 staff with a growing membership base. The 24,000 sq. ft. facility in Osceola County recently underwent a major $2 million renovation in 2012. The incumbent must be a team motivator with the ability to create an environment that delivers exceptional customer service to grow membership and program participation. Under the direction of the District Vice President, the Executive Director will direct and supervise all aspects of the family center operations, including annual fundraising campaigns to exceed $100,000.

This director will be an example of Y core values and will demonstrate them through programs and service offerings within a multi-cultural county which caters to a large Hispanic/family oriented community.   S/he must have political savvy to work effectively in several unique partnerships the Y has with the Osceola County government, City of Kissimmee, Osceola County Public Schools, Walt Disney World, and the Dr. P. Phillips Foundation.

Candidates will be challenged to provide a successful track record in fiscal management including the growth of revenue dollars, the execution of innovative programs, and membership services. S/he will be responsible for recruiting key community leaders and board members; create and implement a well-conceived development/fund raising plan to achieve short term and long term objectives, and will lead the initiative by marshaling the resources of the board, soliciting private donations (individuals, corporations and foundations), and conducting financially successful events.

A key objective is to expand the capacity of the family center to educate and better serve the community by engaging individuals in the Y’s three areas of focus: healthy living, social responsibility, and youth development.  Our Association is enjoying tremendous growth while providing national leadership in the areas of unique health strategies and community collaborations. EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; field of Business, Management preferred. Master’s degree a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in operations management in health and wellness is essential; YMCA experience strongly preferred.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required; Oracle and Technogym experience a plus.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
