Manager, Industry Center Operations

The Industry Center Operations Manager is responsible for all aspects of day-to-day operations of the Industry Centers. This position will manage operational activities, including content development (including coordination of content on the various center websites), event management, and collaboration with other departments in areas such as marketing and communication, membership growth and retention, and event development and execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Industry Center Operations Management

  • Lead the development and implementation of campaigns to recruit and retain Industry Center members in coordination with the Membership Department.
  • Manage the execution of Industry Center marketing and communication plans.
    • Compose and ensure delivery of planned communications to Industry Center members, key stakeholder groups, and other relevant audiences.
    • Coordinate effectively with Membership and Marketing to ensure effective execution of Center communication strategies.
  • Develop and implement center program enhancements as well as new and innovative products and services to be offered as center benefits.
    • Identify opportunities to leverage products and services across the Industry Centers as well as with other businesses throughout the organization.
  • Produce reports, presentations, and other forms of communication in support of Industry Center initiatives.
  • Liaise between Industry Centers and other IIA business units for cross-sharing and cross-promotion of activities.
  • Manage customer service issues received through the Industry mailboxes or from Customer Relations.
    • For subject matter expertise needs, seek guidance from Directors.
    • Resolve customer service issues.
    • Work with Customer Relations for non-industry center issues.
  • Create and manage responsibilities and processes for Industry Center operations.

Event Planning and Delivery

  • Develop and distribute annual event calendars and manage ongoing updates as necessary.
  • Oversee, manage, and plan for Industry Center events and other deliverables.
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver Industry Center networking events.
    • Work closely with The IIA’s Event Services team for event execution and delivery for those events held in conjunction with IIA conferences.
    • Coordinate speakers and facilitators.
    • Finalize event activities and discussion points.
  • Manage Industry Center webinars and work closely with The IIA’s eLearning team to deliver effective, high-quality learning opportunities.

Marketing and promotion of the value of the Industry Centers

  • Execute the annual marketing strategy and provide direction for marketing/promotional efforts by working closely with Industry Center Directors and Marketing and Communications teams.
  • Act as an Industry Center liaison at conferences or other functions directly or in support of Industry Center Directors.
  • Analyze the needs of members and recommend enhancements to ensure the ongoing and changing demands of customers and stakeholders are addressed.
  • Collaborate with IIA Membership and Chapter Relations teams in the development and ongoing management of Industry Center Chapter Relations Plans, Toolkits, and other chapter related efforts.

Other responsibilities

  • Administrative functions as necessary such as budgeting and forecasting, financial analyses, and website updates.
  • KPI/metric creation, monitoring, and reporting based on outlined responsibilities.
  • Stay knowledgeable and current of the internal audit profession.
  • Travel, both domestic and international (approximately 20%).
  • Special projects as assigned.
