Job Title: Marketing Manager Events

Enterprise Florida is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented person to conceptualize and implement a variety of marketing events, which will provide business development opportunities with CEOs, consultants and industry leaders.


To make sure these relationship building events run smoothly, the Marketing Manager will have to handle multiple projects in various timeline stages; maintain registration databases; send out invitations through event management software; and work with an event management agency to handle logistics issues.


Although events will be the major focus for the Marketing Manager, opportunities to help with other facets of Enterprise Florida’s marketing goals will also be assigned as part of this position’s responsibilities.


As the Enterprise Florida Marketing Manager, a typical day might include the following:

 

  • Brainstorming with team for unique concepts for an upcoming event in another state
  • Developing the strategy for an event and working with an event agency to implement it seamlessly
  • Creating an event plan to send out before meeting with executive team and event attendees on event flow
  • Building a campaign and sending an e-invitation through Cvent (online event planning software) to a guest list
  • Working with the Governor’s External Affairs team to involve him in our event
  • Communicating with internal teams to make sure event guest lists are scrubbed properly and clean
  • Calling a vendor to inform them that 15 more guests will be arriving to an upcoming dinner, and that an extra table must fit into the floor plan
  • Creating an event budget for a reception, which will take place in conjunction with an industry conference
  • Communicating with the event agency to make sure the right size buses will be arriving at the hotel of an upcoming event on-time
  • Identifying dates to hold potential events and ensure staff calendars are clear and the date is held
  • Printing out and checking name badges for guests
  • Working with accounting to handle invoices for an event that needs deposits ASAP
  • Calling an event guest back to help them book their hotel room at the group rate
  • Finalizing your pack list for the items needed at the event prior to traveling onsite
  • Be onsite to manage the event and handle any issues
  • Getting anything and everything done to ensure the event goes off smoothly


Supervision:

  • Not applicable for this position.
  • Accountability – Impact and Scope:
  • Responsible for developing event budgets, obtaining budget approval, and managing vendor contracts.


Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, marketing, communications or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in coordinating over-lapping corporate events in multiple markets
  • Good understanding of database management and how it relates to events
  • Advanced skills with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Cvent or another event management software
  • Experience in Salesforce or another CRM software
  • Business to business marketing experience
  • Experience in working with event agency or third party vendors
  • Certified Meeting Planner / Certified Meeting Professional
