Summary: Assists the Benefits Department by performing the following duties.  Not all duties are assigned, this works as a guideline and maybe revised at anytime.
 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

 

  • Furnishes employees and clients with  enrollment forms/info, reports, excel data and other benefit related information
  • Delivers oral or written messages to appropriate colleague
  • Marks, tabulates, and files accordingly
  • Operates office equipment such as computer, stamp machine, photocopying machine/scanner and typewriter
  • Delivers items to other business establishments by using personal vehicle if needed
  • Draft necessary business documents, such as letters, etc. 
  • Answering phones and routing calls accordingly, but assists in answering the questions when able
  • Helping clients, employees, vendors or brokers with requests via email or phone
  • Ability to pull reports from PayPlus
  • Ability to create excel spreadsheets with detailed reporting information.  *Must have in depth knowledge of excel and formulas
  • Filing enrollment forms, emails or pertinent info according to employee or client
  • Creating labels from Word and/or addresses on envelopes
  • Familiarize yourself with our current plans/pricing, plan codes and carrier websites.  Once OE information is given, familiarize yourself with the new information.
  • In “down time” read up on our products offered and Affordable Care Act (ACA).  Ask questions when needed.
  • Greets and assists visitors
  • Sharing ideas of ways to improve systems.
  • Ability to input data and QC – quality check work

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Computer Skills:

Know how to use PayPlus, MicroSoft Office applications like word and excel
