HR GENERALIST POSITION SUMMARY 

Vision HR, a human resources outsourcing provider serving the small to mid-market, is seeking an HR professional to join their Daytona Beach, FL team.  The talented individual chosen for this role will focus on servicing clients as a primary point of contact for their HR needs and provide the high level HR services clients have come to expect by effectively interacting with all levels of personnel in both small and large companies across a broad spectrum of industries, the HR Generalist facilitates a true business partnership and assists client in achieving corporate objectives.  

KEY FOCUS AREAS

  • The successful candidate will serve as a liaison between clients and Vision HR, deliver HR value and regularly visit client sites
  • The individual will be responsible for management and execution of the criminal background check program, state new hire reporting program and drug screen program.
  • Requires working with clients to ensure consistency and compliance from a Federal and State labor perspective; when administering employee relation solutions. 
  • The team member is involved in on-boarding of new clients.
  • This position shares responsibility for the management and execution of Workers’ Compensations claims and audits; as well the execution of the Unemployment claims process.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct HR Audits and Needs Assessments, and implement compliance best practices in areas such as, FLSA, ADA, and FMLA, etc
  • Partner with clients to provide innovative HR solutions as the their business changes.
  • Coordinate the legal maintenance of employee files pursuant to state and federal laws.
  • Support proper state and federal postings and administration
  • Deliver standardized training modules: Sexual Harassment & Discrimination Prevention, Performance Management, Effective & Legal Hiring, Conducting Terminations, and Documentation and Discipline, among others.
  • Create compliant handbooks (tailored to state legal environment) and policies.
  • Conduct internal investigations into incidents of alleged harassment, discrimination and retaliation. Handle government inquiries.
  • Prepare responses to charges of discrimination and partner with in-house HR Director and or attorney to handle EEOC mediations.
  • Develop progressive discipline programs and help draft various types of disciplinary communications to client employees.
  • Provide guidance, instruction and possible solutions to management on various employee matters.
  • Support the management and coordination of various employee leave types (FMLA, STD, WC, LTD)

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a HR focused discipline.

REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

  • This individual will have a minimum of 3 years of HR experience with exposure to the many areas of HR.
  • The candidate will have a “roll up your sleeves” approach to handling and executing strategic as well as transactional HR issues and processes.
  • PEO or HR outsourcing experience is preferred or an exposure to a variety of industries. 
  • The ideal candidate will be an experienced HR professional who possesses expertise in HR counseling, federal and state employment/wage and hour laws, EEOC charges and HR best practices. 
  • Ideal candidates will possess experience with companies and or working with internal departments varying in size from 25-400+ employees within different industries. 
  • This team player must possess organizational skills in order to multi-task and prioritize.  
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills are a must. Experience conducting effective training sessions is important. 
  • The ideal candidate will be someone who can become the customer’s advocate and truly “know” their business.  
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in a consultative method of interaction with clients.
  • Strong problem solving and solution generation skills are necessary; and the ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
  • This self-starter will possess the ability to work autonomously.  
  • Must be computer literate in MS Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  HRIS experience is a plus.
  • Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel among client sites.  Occasionally overnight travel to clients outside of Florida may be required.
  • Experience in all aspects of HR including but not limited to Employee Relations, Leave Management, Performance Management, Training and Policy/Procedure development and implementation.
  • Strong listening skills.
  • Ability to apply skills across multiple industry types and employer sizes.
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and multi task as necessary.
  • Ability to work with people from all levels of discipline.
  • Open to new learning’s and quickly adapts to change.
  • PHR Certification preferred, must acquire within 12 months of employment.
