Financial Controller Job Description:
Excellent opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller that will oversee all accounting and finance related functions. The Controller will serve as a department head, representing the accounting and finance department while working with executive leadership team to drive both short and long term financial strategy. The ideal candidates will possess a background in e-commerce dealing with high levels of day to day transactions. 


Key Duties and Skills:

  • Oversee all activities of the accounting and finance department including the month –end and year- end close processes, financial reporting, payroll, tax, commission payout plans, A/R, A/P, and cash management.
  • Use financial forecasting and modeling techniques to anticipate challenges and opportunities before they arise.
  • Provide prospective/ forward looking financial planning and analysis to corporate leadership
  • Set priorities and goals for the department, interview, hire and mentor the accounting and finance team. Implement goals objectives and practices for effective efficient and cost effective management of allocated resources.
  • Establish and maintain corporate accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure conformance with laws/regulations.
  • Manage external auditor relationship to ensure timely and efficient year end audit and initiate quarterly reviews.
  • Ensure complete and accurate tax compliance and tax accounting processes. Ensure accounting systems and processes are continually streamlined via process improvement to achieve greater efficiencies and accuracy in the level and timeliness of reporting
  • Build relationships cross-functionally to foster collaboration both inside and outside of Accounting and Finance team
  • Oversee and direct end of month and year procedures along with reporting to the Board of Directors.
  • Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions and contract negotiations

Qualifications required

  • Minimum 3-5 years as a senior controller, financial analyst or financial leadership role within a small to midsized business that handles large volumes of daily transactions
  • Experience within Commercial Print e-commerce industry preferred.
  • Must be Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Must have a degree in Finance or Accounting- Mater of Business Administration preferred
  • Analytical abilities to research, extract, summarize and communicate complex or diverse information
  • Skilled in successfully establishing processes and procedures
  • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables
  • Advanced understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP). Must be capable of applying GAAP to new and existing transactions
  • Prior management experience with the ability to build a team that produces quality results in an efficient manner within tight time frames
  • Highly proficient with internal and external reporting using MS EXCEL and Quick Books PRO
  • Strong leadership ability with a passion to lead
