Description: New for spring 2015, Merlin Entertainments are opening 3 new attractions’ in the heart of Orlando located on International Drive. Our three brands will be:

SEA LIFE is the world’s biggest aquarium chain with more than 40 attractions across the world. Every center opens a window into the magical world beneath our seas and offers close encounters for all ages with everything from humble shrimps and starfish to seahorses, sharks and stingrays. SEA LIFE provides a fascinating insight into the wealth and diversity of marine life and plays an active role in conservation and inspires others to lend their support too.

Madame Tussauds is the ultimate celebrity fun day out, where else can you get up close and personal with A-List celebrities, sporting legends, political heavyweights and historical icons and relive the lives, events and moments that made the world talk about them.

Orlando Eye is a 400ft observation wheel, will be a sister icon to London’s world-famous landmark, providing breathtaking views of Central Florida in all directions within fully enclosed, air-conditioned glass capsules.

We are now recruiting for a HR Generalist to provide administrative support to the HR Manager and the attraction. Continuously providing assistance to the attractions focusing on the recruiting, employee relations, compensation and benefits, learning and development, reward and recognition initiatives to ensure a positive work environment for the staff in Orlando.
  Requirements/Qualifications: • Minimum of 5 years HR Generalist experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in a HR focused discipline or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of employment law, best practices for all segments of talent management especially recruitment.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong written communications skills.
• Excellent communication and motivational skills.
• Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and multi task as necessary.
• Great organization skills, detail oriented and self starter.
• Ability to work with people from all levels of discipline.
• Open to new learning’s and quickly adapts to change Responsibilities: The Role

Provide HR generalist/administrative support to attraction. Continuously provide assistance to attraction in order to focus on the recruiting, employee relations, compensation and benefits, learning and development, reward and recognition initiatives to ensure a positive work environment for the staff.




Recruitment and Selection
• Facilitate an efficient recruitment process from start to finish
o Plan recruitment to ensure staffing levels meet requirements
o Ensure job descriptions and person specifications are always up to date
o Draft job postings for internal and external recruitment
o Utilize recruitment methods that target the desired talent pool (e.g. Company/internet job boards, social media, job fairs, recruitment agencies)
o Screen candidates, book interviews, coordinate applicant testing, and provide interview feedback to both successful and unsuccessful candidates
o Issue new hire packs including, offers of employment, contracts, key policies, benefits enrolment forms, job descriptions, tax forms, and any other required documentation
o Schedule and deliver new hire orientation


Employee Relations
• Act as an in-house consultant for employee matters to ensure fairness and consistency in line with company policy and relevant local legislation
• Guide managers to ensure progressive discipline is adhered to
• Respond to all employee correspondence in a timely and careful manner

Learning and Development
• Plan, facilitate, and deliver on site training including all new hire orientation, management training, health and safety training
• Work with managers to develop effective learning methods and encourage continuous development
• Facilitate the performance review process
• Identify training needs and work with managers to determine where, when and how training needs will be met

Employee Engagement
• Act as the attraction champion for our annual employee feedback survey, Wizard Wants to Know (WWTK)
• Lead action planning workshops following the results of the WWTK
• Work with managers to implement employee engagement action plans and trace progress
• Manage the attraction STAR awards database and prizes, and educate new hires about the program
• Communications including but not limited to, intercompany announcements, notice board upkeep, policy and procedure implementation, weekly bulletin, and organization and delivery of team meetings




Benefits and Compensation
• Manage all benefits administration including, adding new members, updating member information, terminating members and acting as the first point of contact for external suppliers
• Act as an on-site point of contact for employees and organize education session with external suppliers where required
• Gather compensation data in order to assist in the annual salary/bonus review process
• Allocate Group RRSP contributions on a bi-weekly basis through our record keeper’s online portal
• Communicate any changes in membership to our Group RRSP record keeper
• Keep an up to date record of eligible employees in order to track who is/isn’t currently enrolled in available benefits options
• Provide guidance on appropriate compensation taking into consideration the local market and legislative requirements

Payroll
• Collect new hire information and provide relevant details to our payroll provider
• Input new hire information into time and attendance application
• Assign time clock badge numbers to all hourly employees
• Maintain company time clock and liaise with technicians when issues arise
• Run daily labor cost reports to ensure effective management of labor costs
• Transmit payroll data bi-weekly to our payroll provider
• Check bi-weekly pay test to ensure 100% accuracy
• Complete termination forms and provide them to our payroll provider so that record of employment documentation can be generated
• Distribute pay slips and all pay-related documentation to employees in a timely manner

Health and Safety
• Take part in monthly Joint Health and Safety committee (JHSC) site inspections
• Keep all JHSC documentation up to date on the health and safety notice board
• Coordinate off site/on -site training of the JHSC members
• Act as a key contact for the Ministry of Labor during site inspections and provide follow up information where required
• Deliver Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) in house to all employees on an annual basis
• Workplace Safety Insurance Board (WSIB) management including reporting employee incidents resulting in lost time, calculating and submitting monthly premiums, and acting as in-house consultant for return-to-work plans

Miscellaneous
• Complete and submit monthly HR KPIs for the attraction
• Maintain all employee files and payroll records
• Attraction charity champion for Merlin’s Magic Wand
• Help plan events such as the employee holiday party
• Order supplies for the office/attraction
