Position Summary
Teach instructional education programs at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.  Instructional programs relate to NASA’s space exploration programs and other science related themes.  Instructional programs include Astronaut Training Experience, BLAST, Camp KSC, Overnight Adventures, themed educational events and instructional school field trip programs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as instructor of Visitor Complex education programs and camps. Brevard Space Week
  • Supervise student participants in a safe learning environment
  • Maintain and operate networked space shuttle simulation software, virtual reality equipment and motion based simulators in a safe learning environment.
  • Research and maintain active knowledge of KSC and NASA’s Space exploration program
  • Perform administrative tasks and education office coordination
  • Facilitate the evaluation process of the operations.
  • Assist with projects related to development of new and innovative ideas on how to better educate and entertain student participants

Qualifications
 

  • Education in a related subject.  AA Degree Preferred.  Education, science and or communication preferred.  A combination of education and practical experience will be considered
  • Teaching experience in traditional or non-traditional education program
  • Excellent communications and organization skills
  • Prior knowledge and interest in KSC and NASA’s space program
  • Resume, references and background checks required.
  • Personal transportation is required
  • Physical Requirements
     

Working with the public moderate to strenuous physical activity will be required.

Physical demands include, but are not limited to: standing for the majority of a work shift, mobility up and down stairs, lifting up to 30 lbs., spending time outside in variable weather, and ability to operate simulators with heavy moving parts
