Installation Technician

Position Description:

The Installation Technician’s primary role is the installation of desktops; workstations and peripheral equipment and conducting appropriate tests and diagnostics to ensure the product has been installed and configured per standards.

Responsibilities:

• Uninstalling existing equipment during refresh projects and properly disposing of equipment per standards.

• Unpacking and installing computer equipment and peripherals in the field and ensure proper network usage and quality.

• Basic network setup including internet access and network connection

• Run appropriate tests and diagnostics to ensure the newly installed product functions properly and conforms to standards.

• Replace faulty equipment and report any defective or damaged equipment to the Project Coordinator.

• Removal of all packaging and other debris after work is completed.

• Completing tasks as required by the Project Coordinator.

  Education/Experience: 

• 6 months related experience; or

• One year of college level or technical courses in Information Technology or related field; or  

• Combination of education and experience

Required Skills:

• Experience in troubleshooting computer equipment

• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Information Technology field

• Detail-oriented

• Ability to lift and move merchandise of up to 50 pounds.

• Able to bend or stoop to floor-level shelves and be able to reach upper shelves with use of stool or ladder when necessary.

• Ability to pass Drug-Free Workplace testing.

• Ability to pass Background Check.

• Strong interpersonal skills are required for effective communication with internal team members, customers and vendors.

• Travel may be required.
• Overtime may be required based on business needs.
• 1st shift
• $14.00 (Hourly)
• Temp to Perm
