Faculty Pool - Mobile Development Lab Specialist

Summary:

This opening is for general consideration for Lab Specialist positions within the Full Sail University Education Department. Lab Specialists ensure lab tutorials and/or lab assignments as defined by Course Director are completed. They maintain professionalism in the lab environment and assist students with technology and project implementation. This position requires mobile development experience as well as strong practical and formal knowledge of producing professional mobile applications, including pre-production, development, and market deployment. Lab Specialists may be required to teach both on-campus and online. This position is part-time, on-campus in Winter Park, FL.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Creates an environment of learning by ensuring excellence in teaching skills and classroom content, student-centered focus, and assisting with curriculum to keep current and relevant to industry standards
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and encourage active learning
  • Assess student outcomes in a timely manner through effective assessment and feedback practices
  • Facilitate labs for campus courses, and hold scheduled virtual course meetings for online
    courses. Teaching will be conducted through on-campus and online delivery
  • Interact positively with students, treat students with respect, provide all students with equal opportunities for learning, and work with diverse student populations
  • Provide timely, regular responses and constructive feedback to students to support the learning process
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the industry, maintain knowledge and skill relevancy through continuing education as defined in the faculty development plan

  • Ability to explain complex concepts in simple term
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading and editing for grammar and punctuation

  • Ability to multi-task while working independently or collaboratively with other teachers and university staff
  • Ability to interact with students and staff at all levels in a fast paced environment

Education and/or Experience:

The ideal candidate must have a minimum of four (4) years related and verifiable work experience or hold a Bachelor’s degree in Web, Mobile, Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Mining, Analytics, Library Science, Mathematics or related discipline from an accredited college or university. Depending on the course level, requirements will be varied based on our Accrediting Commission (ACCSC).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
None

Skills:

  • Knowledge of modern software development languages, practices and tools
  • Experience using apps on Android or iOS devices is required
  • Advanced knowledge of at least one programming language
  • Experience in Java, C, Objective-C and/or Swift is preferred

Environmental Factors/Physical Demands:

Work is performed in an office and classroom environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active student and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system. May be subject to; bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to thirty (30) pounds.
