Job Description
 

Position Concept: 
  
The Talent Management Specialist assists in the day to day operations of the department by providing talent management support to Eckerd staff members and management within assigned program locations.  Responsibilities include guiding and coaching supervisors in employee performance issues and corrective actions, conducting employee relations investigations, compensation, development/interpretation of policies/procedures, job description creation and monitoring, support and of the talent acquisition process, and employee engagement and retention efforts.  This position is also responsible for providing reporting and analytical support with respect to the department scorecard.

Essential Functions:


• Assists in the identification and resolution of issues and obstacles which interfere with the goal of ensuring every employee has the opportunity to succeed.  Continually monitors the degree to which Eckerd’s PSoW is embedded into the organization.
• Acts as a first point of contact for managers; providing support in regards to employee relations issues, inquiries and complaints.  Under the direction of the Director of Talent Management, provides prompt and appropriate guidance, conducts investigations and escalates issues when appropriate.  Ensures timely resolution of all issues.
• Conducts Onboarding and Exit Surveys, collates data, identifies trends, and shares information with department leadership in a timely fashion.  Continually monitors the overall effectiveness of the department’s People Processes.
• Evaluates employee relations and work-related problems; identifying trends and determining the most effective remediation techniques.
• Provides research and statistical information to department staff in order to assist with compensation & classification issues and in support of the organization’s business development process.
• Updates department scorecard on a monthly basis.
• Serves as a primary back-up to the Talent Acquisition Coordinator including but not limited to opening/closing job requisitions, offer letters, and ATS support.
• Serves as a back-up to the Executive Assistant in regards to employment verifications & unemployment claims.
• Maintains and contributes to a positive, supportive, and collegial working environment within the Talent Management department, the CSC, and the organization as a whole.

Job Requirements:

Education – Bachelor’s degree required, from an accredited College or University, preferably human resources, business administration, or a related field.
Experience – Three years of experience in Human Resources experience required, preferably in a Generalist capacity.

Skills - Ability to work collectively in a team environment.  Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction.  Strong written and verbal communication skills.  Strong analytical and problem solving skills.  Ability to handle multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines while maintaining the quality of work.  Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.  Must be proficient with MS Office (word, excel, outlook, PowerPoint), ability to handle confidential information with appropriate discretion, comfort around higher management.

Physical Demands - Ability to spend extended periods of time sitting at a desk, ability to stand for long periods of time, some bending and lifting required.  Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Other –Must meet state criminal background check requirements.

Travel – Must be available to travel as needed.  Must be able to meet requirements for Eckerd’s Auto Insurance and be able to drive for business purposes.  Must be able to drive for Eckerd.  Must maintain appropriate and valid state driver’s license.
