As an A/V Technician you will be responsible for maintaining the A/V needs of all three sites. You will ensure that the guests are covered with an audio and visual experience that mirrors the awesomeness of each attractions unique display.
Duties will include:
Develops and upholds regular maintenance and repair program for all entertainment technical equipment. Keeps current and regular documentation of repairs and maintenance, tracking actual equipment use and lifetime.
Implements minor repairs in a timely manner. Coordinates higher level repair by warranty, manufacturer or shop.
Oversees purchase and maintenance of repair bench and necessary supplies. Maintains inventory of consumable goods including lighting gel, projection lamps, cable, and connectors.
Assists Head of Engineering and Facilities Manager in specification and purchase of new audio, lighting, and show control equipment. Assists in development of new systems including installation of new shows to existing venues.
Works with the Facilities Manager to implement instruction program for use and maintenance of equipment for future A/V technicians.
Helps with design and implementation of audio, lighting, and staging plans for special events in and outside of the department’s regular performance venues.
Demonstrates ability to perform regular A/V Technician duties for any of the performance venues, as listed on the Show Technician job description.
Any other responsibility that the Head of Engineering or Facilities Manager deems necessary.
The Person
The successful candidate will be self-motivated with excellent communication, analytic, planning and organizational skills with an outgoing and professional manner. A background or education in the Audio/Visual field is essential as is competent literacy and numeracy skills. Minimum five years of experience in operating audio and visual equipment for the entertainment industry. Demonstrated ability in use of analog and digital equipment for audio, lighting, projection and theatrical show control systems. Knowledge of equipment in this industry and best equipment for the needed situation. A high school diploma or general education degree (or equivalent education and experience) is preferred. Must be able to operate different size scissor lifts and have experience working on ladders and scaffolding. As a team player you’ll need to be flexible to working hours, have the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and act with initiative.
