We are seeking responsible and dynamic individuals with a passion for aquatics to join our team as Lifeguards and Swim Instructors. We have several seasonal openings at our YMCA Family Center locations in Orange, Seminole, Brevard, and Marion counties. 

This position will report to the Aquatics Coordinator or Director of Operations at our Wayne Densch YMCA location in Orlando (Pine Hills).  

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to guarding, assisting members and pool maintenance. This individual must have excellent customer service skills.  Strong swimming skills are a must. S/he must know and review all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with the YMCA of Central Florida policies and procedures.

Education, Training, and Experience

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous lifeguard and/or Swim Instructor experience preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
  • Current Oxygen Administration certification required.
  • Current Lifeguard certification required. (YMCA Lifeguard certification preferred; Red Cross Lifeguard certification is acceptable, but must receive YMCA certification within 60 days)
  • Current YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification required.
