The YMCA of Central Florida prides itself on providing water safety for children and adults in the community. Under the Association leadership and direction of our Vice President of Aquatics, and 3 Time Olympic Gold Medalist, Mr. Rowdy Gaines; we are in the need of skilled lifeguards and swim instructors to support us in this critical effort.

We have immediate needs for summer-seasonal and part-time year round opportunities at the following Y locations:

• Blanchard Park Y (10501 J. Blanchard Trail Orlando, FL 32817)
• Crosby Y (2005 Mizell Ave. Winter Park, FL 32792)
• Downtown Orlando Y (433 N. Mills Ave. Orlando, FL 32803)
• J. Douglas Williams Y (665 Longwood-Lake Mary Rd. Lake Mary, FL 32746)
• Lake Nona Y (9005 Northlake Pkwy. Orlando, FL 32827)
• Oviedo Y (7900 Red Bug Lake Rd. Oviedo, FL 32765)
• South Orlando Y (814 W. Oakridge Rd. Orlando, FL 32809) 

Duties include but are not limited to guarding, assisting members and pool maintenance. This individual must have excellent customer service skills and strong swimming skills. S/he must know and review all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with the YMCA of Central Florida policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• CPR for the Professional Rescuer certified
• AED certified
• First Aid Certified
• Lifeguard Certification (nationally recognized)
• Swim Instructor Certification - WSI (American Red Cross) or YSL (YMCA) Certification a plus
• Minimum age 16 years or older

Salary: 

Lifeguards; $9.00 - $11.40 / hour based on certifications and years of experience.  

Swim Instructors $10.80 - $13.00 / hour
