Elevator Inspector

CLASSIFICATION:    Elevator Inspector

HOURS:    40 Hours Per Week

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

•  Graduation from high school or vocational school or equivalent. 
• Licensed as an Elevator Inspector in FL with 1 year experience as an Elevator Inspector or possessing a qualified Elevator Inspector’s license from N.A.E.S.A or state of Florida issued certificate of competency or 4 years of experience in elevator trades or a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.

RESPONSIBILITIES:    

• The Elevator Inspector  is the inspectional and enforcement work in securing and maintaining compliance with laws and regulations pertaining to elevators, escalators, hand and power dumbwaiters, moving walks, inclined elevators, chair lifts and vertical wheelchair lifts and related installations. 
• Elevator Inspector work  involves responsibility for the enforcement program assuring legally established requirements for plans, workmanship and materials are met with regard to elevator type work throughout the Reedy Creek Improvement District.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

•  Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• . Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms, talk and  hear. 
• Occasionally required to sit, climb, stoop, kneel or crawl.  

SALARY:     Wage ranges between $1,196 and $1,550 per week.
