Job Description: 
University Behavioral Center has been a leading regional provider of intensive residential and acute Mental Health services to severely troubled individuals for over 25 years, and is seeking a qualified Director of Nursing.

The responsibility of the Director of Nursing is to oversee the quality and delivery of client care in the behavioral health setting. Ensure quality client care that is in compliance with regulatory requirements, professional standards and the facility’s policies and procedures.

The Director of Nursing reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer. Candidates must have a minimum of one year psychiatric nursing experience with nursing supervision experienced preferred. Must be knowledgeable of a wide range of disorders; cognitive, emotional, developmental, social and behavioral, and have valid Florida license.

We are a 110 bed residential/acute facility for children, adolescents, and adults with psychiatric and/or behavioral problems, ideally located in Orlando just minutes from great shopping, attractions, and new housing developments. 

Knowledge and Skills: 

• Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnoses, and interventions with patients 
• Ability to direct subordinates in the performance of their duties 
• Ability to accurately administer medication and monitor side-effects. 
• Ability to safely implement Special Treatment Procedures 
• Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families 
• Skill in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel)

Job Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelors of Science required. 
• Must have minimum of five (5) years prior experience in client care services. 
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in behavioral healthcare setting. 
• Minimum of three (3) years previous supervisory experience. 

Current Florida State Registered Nurse License
