Williams Company is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager / Senior Estimator to become part of the team in our Tampa office.  Must have minimum 7 years experience with a commercial General Contractor / Construction Management firm and be familiar with the Florida marketplace.  Williams Company offers excellent pay and benefits, and is Employee-Owned. 

 

  • Preconstruction Manager is responsible for all preconstruction services ranging from conceptual estimates & budgets to preparation of comprehensive GMP and hard-bid proposals.
  •  Must be able to lead and manage the entire preconstruction process on both a negotiated GMP and a hard-bid estimate.  
  • The Preconstruction Manager is also involved in developing & maintaining relationships with Clients, Architects, Engineers, and Subcontractors / Suppliers, proposal development and project presentations,  and supporting business development efforts.

  • Successful candidates must have previous experience estimating commercial construction projects.  They must have the ability to read plans & specifications and need a thorough understanding of commercial construction processes, techniques, and systems.  
  • Successful candidates will be assigned to estimate projects such as assisted living, retail, educational, office, warehouse, and other fast-track commercial construction projects.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 7 years experience with a commercial General Contractor / Construction Management firm
  • Knowledge of Florida construction market(s)- preferrably Tampa Bay 
  • Significant experience in Educational, Assisted-Living, and/or Retail Construction Projects
  • Experience in all aspects of preconstruction- conceptual & schematic budgeting, design development budgeting, quantity surveys and take-offs, etc.
  • Experience in CM-at-Risk and Design-Build delivery methods
  • Proficient in use of computers, technology, and estimating software
  • Excellent communication skills- written and verbal
  • Organized, Motivated, and Team-Player
