AdvoServ Florida assists adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living fulfilling lives, in less restrictive settings and to safely enjoy recreational and vocational opportunities in the community.  We are seeking qualified applicants for our position of Cook Assistant / Driver in the Mount Dora area. This important full time position is responsible for assisting the chef with cooking, cleaning and delivering meals to our residents at various locations located on our grounds at AdvoServ.This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified job seeker to continue a career with a growing organization committed to quality, compassionate care.

Location:

  • Based in Mount Dora, Florida -- Lake County 
  • Other locations as needed
  • Travel required between multiple locations in the Lake County area

Essential Functions & Responsibilities Of This Position:

  • Assist cooks in the preparation of all kinds of foods using a variety of kitchen appliances and equipment
  • Set up serving line and assist in the serving of food and prepare trays to deliver to program sites located on our grounds.
  • Clean kitchen utensils, equipment, and food preparation areas including refrigerators, freezers and storage areas
  • Clean eating utensils, trays and other food service equipment and areas after meals;
  • Unpack and stores supplies, and other kitchen and dining room related activities as directed by the Head Cook.

 Requirements

 

  • Valid, active, unrestricted driver's license without any major violations within the past 3 years
  • Minimum of two years experience of a cook assistant 
  • High school diploma, GED or technical school certification
  • Ability to organize and schedule one’s own work assignments
  • Ability to tolerate a variety of environmental conditions
  • Successful completion of AdvoServ's pre-employment process which includes physical (including lift test, drug screen), TB test, motor vehicle records check, fingerprinting and background check, positive reference checks, education verifications and employment verifications.
  • MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS
