Executive Director Analysis, Assessment and Accountability

Orlando, Florida

Position General Summary
The Executive Director holds all aspects of accountability in regard to operations, performance, and regulatory compliance specific to assessment services. The Executive Director requires knowledge of organization and management theory and practice while serving to consult and collaborate with executive leadership by providing expertise of the use of data and how it affects the teaching and learning process. With a keen knowledge of student assessment theory and practice, knowledge and commitment to decentralized decision-making and accountability for results, and knowledge of academic testing and the applicable laws, the Executive Director will recommend and assist in program decisions as they relate to curriculum, instruction, and professional development.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
- Plan, develop and implement programs, activities and functions designed to achieve school goals as directed by the COO
- Develop, manage, and evaluate all programs, activities, and functions under his/her supervision to ensure their efficient operation and full alignment with school goals and priorities as directed by the COO
- Develop, oversee, and adhere to a department-based budget
- Keep the COO informed about current critical issues and the operational status of areas under his/her control
- Provide expertise and support to curriculum and instruction staff to increase student learning, success and achievement of district priorities
- Provide leadership to national, state, district, and school assessment, analysis, and accountability program
- Plan and direct a system of feedback and assessment of district-level programs to determine their responsiveness to the learning communities’ needs
- Prepare briefs, summaries, and other materials to guide development of FLVS’s accountability positions
- Present assessment, analysis, and accountability reports to appropriate audiences; i.e., Board of Trustees, Executive Team, Leadership Team, ILs, teachers, parents, advisory groups, and civic groups
- Develop and track assessment, analysis, and accountability performance targets and ensure they align with FLVS organizational strategy
- Oversee liaise between the FLDOE and FLVS in regards to establishing compliance on assessment, analysis, and accountability matters
- Maintain, review, and update the FLVS Policies and Procedures Manual as it pertains to department responsibilities
- Lead and manage assigned direct reports; evaluate the department structure for continual improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of the group, as well as ensure team members have access to professional and personal growth within the organization
- Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- Master’s degree in related field
- Earned doctorate from an accredited institution, preferred
- Certification in education leadership and/or administration and supervision
Experience:
- Six (6) years of education leadership, management, and supervision experience
- Both school principal and central office experience, preferred
- Experience in strategic, high-level senior management responsibilities
- Demonstrated success working with and through people in establishing goals, objectives and action plans to produce expected results
Knowledge, abilities and skills:
- Knowledge of state and national virtual learning and education policies, trends, and best practices
- Ability to analyze legislation and identify relevant information
- Strong organizational, project management, research, and analytic skills
- Ability to work effectively with government agencies to provide leadership in consensus- building
- Ability to negotiate and clearly communicate FLVS’s policy positions to external stakeholders in ways that engender respect and strengthen FLVS’s relationships with those stakeholders over time
- Ability to provide strategic leadership and address key strategic challenges and opportunities
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent collaborative, team player with the ability and proficiency at influencing without authority
- Ability to deploy resources and manage multiple projects
- Ability to work with and through people to establish goals, objectives, and action plans

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Location: Orlando VLC
- Frequency of travel: Minimal is required
- Light physical activities and efforts required working in an office environment
