Patient Access Services Representative, Central Scheduling-1526891

Description

Interacts with patients, physicians' offices, and ancillary departments within the hospital to schedule outpatient procedures and tests via phone, fax. Interviews patients, to gather demographic and insurance information to register them in the computer system. Completes medical necessity checks and produces Advanced Beneficiary Notices as needed, complies with HIPAA, Patient Rights and benefit assignments as directed. Verifies patient's insurance eligibility and benefits. Identifies patient's financial responsibilities and financial counsels counsels' patients, requests deposits based on verified benefits. Calls patients to pre-register and/or confirm appointments. Demonstrates the ability to think independently, problem solve and recommend solutions that positevely reflect and impact the hospital. Call physician offices to obtain prescriptions and referrals for patient procedures and tests when necessary. The Patient Access Associate (Central Scheduling) performs all of these functions in a manner that complies with standards established by Hospital Administration, Medical Staff, and outside regulatory and accreditation agencies and in a manner that promotes team concepts and reflects the Bayfront Health St Petersburg mission and philosophy. * A complete list of job duties and the physical requirements for this position is available in Human Resources.

Qualifications

Must have High School diploma or equivalent and Call Center/ phone experience, with 3+ years Customer Service and Computer and internet skills. Prefer working knowledge of third party payors and insurance verification and authorization * 3+ years of healthcare/medical office * Knowledge of governmental regulatory requirements
