Web Developer

Winter Park, Florida

Full Sail seeks a full-time Web Developer to join a tight-knit team supporting the school's marketing initiatives. This is mid-level position that requires a full-stack skill set with an emphasis on modern back-end development. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
• Execute at all stages of the development process (concept, UX, front end, application layer, data design, etc.) 
• Utilize critical-thinking and problem-solving skills while remaining professional and personable 
• Exhibit strong attention to detail and thoroughness 
• Communicate and multi-task effectively within a team-based environment 
• Adhere to internal coding and documentation standards on shared code and projects 
• Demonstrate the ability to self-start and a desire to learn new technologies and techniques

• Maintain strict confidentiality of company and personnel information

• Adhere to company attendance standards 
• Perform other duties as assigned 

Competencies: 
Proficiency with modern web standards and best practices including HTML5, CSS3, responsive/mobile-first, MVC architecture, JS/JS libs, object-oriented application development, source control systems, SQL/NoSQL systems, caching & performance systems, etc. 

Education and/or Experience: 
Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience required. 

Computer Skills: 
• Proficiency using software programs such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook 
• Fluency in Ruby preferred 

Environmental Factors/Physical Demands: 
Work is performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active customer and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system; enter alpha-numeric data into a computerized system often while listening on the telephone. May be subject to bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to thirty (30) pounds.
