ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Manager of Education and Training is responsible for managing the development of all education and training products for the organization.  The position will manage the coordination and expertise in support of resource design, delivery and evaluation of courses and instructional materials for both in-person and online delivery. This position will provide department level long-term and day-to-day management of courses, products, and programs offered in all aspects of its Information Technology (IT) Security education. 

KEY OBJECTIVES

Develop long-range strategies, research, develop, and assess new projects and programs in support of the mission and vision in compliance with national trends, best practices, and program requirements.  Provide innovative ideas, introduce new technologies, and promote creativity to improve the quality of courses and end-user engagement. Responsible for promoting the reputation of the Company as a leader in delivering high quality, innovative, sound education, training products and programs.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Support the development and implementation of the annual strategic plan the department
  • Providing program administration services by supporting the administration of the budget
  • Provide support in the management of education development and delivery
  • Provide support in the management of the Global Academic Program
  • Researching new developments, best practices, and accreditation compliance issues related to education and training, and product development.
  • Monitoring compliance with program requirements for ANSI/ISO standards
  • Making recommendations for development in accordance with national trends, best practices, and program requirements
  • Coordinating and overseeing online end-user support services
  • Planning the implementation of cutting edge training and support for resources utilizing online and blended courses and products
  • Coordinating the development of courses/programs by working directly with resources and administrators on planning, developing, and assessing courses and programs.
  • Planning and recommending resource training initiatives and opportunities utilizing instructional design support and strategies that enhance product development, and disseminates information regarding new technological developments to resources.
  • Carries out job responsibilities in a team-oriented manner by working cooperatively with colleagues and staff from various organizational units such as department heads, resources, support staff, technical specialists, and others.
  • Remains competent and current especially in topics related to administration and development of education through a variety of means, such as self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, and attending professional development and/or training programs as required.
  • Make recommendations to organize, maintain, develop, and assess the education projects and programs
  • Regularly scan the education and training landscape to gauge what other providers are doing including-non-profits and for-profits
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and accreditation standards
  • Develop and maintain effective distance-learning infrastructure and support for resources
  • Attend meetings and conferences to promote and enhance the program; market courses to current and prospective end-users

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in education, instructional technology, or closely related field
  • Demonstrated experience in information security, current (ISC)2 credential holder preferred
  • Broad experience with education including course and curriculum development, resources preparation and support, course evaluation and digital resources
  • Minimum of six years’ experience in the area of education or distance learning and resources development of relevant skills
  • Six or more years’ experience in administering education programs, including online delivery 
  • Currently active in online learning initiatives, corporate or higher education, required
  • Experience in educational media development, digitized audio and video technologies, and application of technology to teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of the academic and regulatory environment related to education is essential
  • Program development, administrative, and/or project management experience in education instruction is required

COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge of blended-learning and education platforms and tools, plus current knowledge of new technology and course development trends
  • Extensive knowledge educational technology, including various web technologies, content management systems, and learning management systems
  • Knowledge of ANSI/ISO standards and requirements for the development and delivery of education
  • Conversant and experienced with various technologies ancillary to LMSs (i.e. lecture capture, online testing, synchronous and asynchronous engagement applications, etc.)  Current usage a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills and decision-making skills are required
  • Must have ability to concentrate and have attention to detail to ensure accuracy
  • Must have problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Must be able to set goals and prioritize tasks and the workload to ensure timely completion of assignments
  • Skilled in project planning and implementation; organization and coordination, team-building and managing processes
  • Strong team player and collaborator
  • Strong work ethic, be self-directed and comfortable with some degree of ambiguity and with playing multiple roles in an organization with limited resources

  • Work in an office environment using dual monitor computer screens
  • Ability to work under pressure of deadlines in a fast paced environment.

  • Up to 25% out-of-town travel to oversee off-workshops, seminars or participate in professional development
