Responsibilities:
- Post content and monitor social media accounts - Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and InterSeC.
- Compile and draft daily news summaries for staff distribution.
- Support PR efforts by drafting news releases, and media advisories/alerts announcing programs, services and/or events.
- Assist in the coordination of media interviews and support Global Communications Manager by ensuring that all information (talking points, briefs, etc.) is accurate and up-to-date.
- Draft corporate communications such as FAQs, staff and member notices, web messages, and email communications.
- Draft formal correspondence such as event invitations, awards program correspondence, and others letters as needed.
- Write content for and make updates to (ISC)2 website using the Ektron content management system.
- Participate in background research and the development of talking points for presentations and media interviews.
- Review materials from various (ISC)2 departments for grammar, spelling errors, and consistency, including:
- Emails
- Event Programs
- Ads
- Proofread and test links in member email communications.
- Track assignments/tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements: This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, proof-reading skills, the ability to work to deadlines and effectively multi-task. Candidates pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, English, or similarly related fields are strongly preferred.
- Junior or senior student
- Able to work up to 24 hours (maximum) per week.
- Excellent, demonstrable written and verbal communications skills.
- Superior proofreading, grammar, and English language comprehension skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Team player. Ability to interact comfortably in a diverse team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi task.
- Research skills.
- Comfortable phone manner.
- General awareness of current affairs.
- Understanding of social media and digital marketing.
- Creative mindset.
