Position Description (General role information, job purpose, main objectives of the role)

The Guest Service Associate provides prompt, efficient, and courteous guest service, follows company policies and procedures, and sells products to individuals in a high volume convenience store outlet. This individual helps to maintain a clean, customer friendly environment inside and outside the store. The role of Guest Service Associate can be part or full time and hours include night, weekend, and holiday hours.

Customer Service

  • Greets and interacts with new and regular guests in a genuine manner and suggests products that compliment purchase to enhance the guest experience.
  • Rings up guests on cash register and balances cash and inventory transactions.
  • Provides prompt, efficient, and courteous service.
  • Resolves and when necessary escalates guest complaints.
  • Fosters positive and professional relationships with co-workers and guests, communicates respectfully, and maintains a consistent team-oriented attitude.
  • Focuses on collaboration and teamwork as a part of the store team; works well with the general public.
  • Encourages participation in the guest feedback system.

Clean, Safe, Fast & Full

  • Cleans in and outside of store (sweep parking lot, mop floors, empty trash, clean rest rooms, fill water and towels at the pump, replace pay-at-the-pump receipt paper, etc).
  • Stocks shelves and coolers and takes inventory on shelf items.
  • Keeps fresh foods stocked and ready-to-eat. Performs regular temperature checks to ensure food is at the appropriate temperature.
  • Adheres to all RaceTrac, federal, state and local safety-related regulations, including food safety regulations.
  • Assists Store Management in receiving vendor deliveries.
  • Maintains fresh and available beverages.
  • Updates prices and posts new signage to reflect monthly promotions and sales opportunities.
  • Has the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to repeatedly bend, stand, and reach while on the job, with no or infrequent breaks.
  • Keeps gasoline price sign up-to-date outside of store in accordance with the method of that location.
