Founded in 2009, Camaraderie Foundation’s mission is to provide healing for invisible wounds of war through counseling, emotional and spiritual support for all branches of military service members, veterans and their families.  We do this by providing financial scholarships for service members and their families to participate in private counseling support, educational programming, family engagement activities, mentor leadership program and resource services.  For more information about the Camaraderie Foundation, please visit www.camaraderiefoundation.org.

The Bookkeeper reports to the Executive Director and works directly with the Executive Director along with the Development and Program Staff.  The chosen candidate will work remotely, but will have regular meetings with the Executive Director at the business office in Downtown Orlando.  This is a part time position with flexible hours and days. Only local candidates will be considered. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Expert knowledge of QuickBooks.
  • Maintain Accounts Receivable & Payable and post items to the proper accounts.
  • Process and reconcile company credit card receipts
  • Input expenses
  • Process Invoices
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Create checks for bill payment & obtain signatures from Executive Director and/or Board Officers
  • Mail payments
  • Account Reconciliation
  • Month end closing reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • 3+ years relevant experience

Skills and Certifications:

  • Expert level knowledge of Quickbooks (Quickbooks for Nonprofits preferred but not required)
  • Data entry in donor database systems - Desired
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products (Word Excel PowerPoint Access Visio) and adobe Acrobat Products, as well as Internet research abilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required
