High school graduate with three (3) years experience in carpentry/woodworking trade, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Must have basic knowledge of essential safety equipment and protective devices. Knowledge of rules, regulations, and guidelines regarding the safe operation of carpentry hand tools and power tools. Must have the ability to read and interpret simple blueprints, sketches and drawings. Must be capable of properly operating and communicating using field communications equipment. Valid Florida driver license required.
Performs structural maintenance and repair of facilities, as well as small new construction projects. Installs and repairs doors and associated hardware, dry wall and wainscoting, floor covering and cove base, ceilings and ceiling tiles, roofs and flashing, glass and basic office furniture. Fabricates, repairs, or replaces picture frames. Lays out and constructs basic partitions. Performs basic cabinet construction, laminate work, and regular cleaning and prescribed operator maintenance tasks on equipment. Perform other duties as assigned.
